Sports Hall of Fame Interactive Exhibit

The interactive exhibit is an on-premise application to showcase athletes and hall of fame inductees. Built using the .Net Framework and Oracle MySQL, the application contains an auto installer for the workstation quick and easy install and re-install.

  • Requires Windows 10, Windows 11
  • Minimum 8GB RAM
  • Requires 350MB of Disk Space for App
  • Requires Disk Storage for Hall of Fame Content including Images, PDF files and video

Instructions:

  • Pin the Sports Hall of Fame icon to the taskbar
  • Set your Windows taskbar to auto hide
  • Launch the Sports Hall of Fame (HOF) application
  • The HOF app starts with a screen of rolling images
  • Tap anywhere on this splash screen to begin an interactive session
    • The user will be taken to the Main Menu
    • Use the Search Options to Search for Athletes or Inductees
  • Tap on the Home button to end a session and to return to the splash screen
    • The system uses a timer to auto return to the splash screen after a period of inactivity
  • To Exit the System
    • Exiting the application should be a graceful exit just like any other app or program
    • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
    • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
    • Choose Exit Application

 

Adding Users:

  • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
  • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
  • Choose Manage Users
  • Record a username and PIN
  • Choose Save & Close
  • Repeat the procedure for as many users as desired

 

Setting Your Primary Image 

  • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
  • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
  • Choose Settings
  • Tap on the Browse button corresponding to Background Image to Display on Main Search Form
    • Choose the Desired Image to Serve as the Primary background Image
      • Recommended image types are JPG or PNG
      • Some recommended Image Sizes 2000 x 1100 pixels, 4724 x 2362 pixels
  • Choose Save & Close

 

Setting Your Scrolling Images for the Landing Screen

  • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
  • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
  • Choose Settings
  • Tap on the Set Path button corresponding to Path for Scrolling Images on Home Form
    • Recommended image types are JPG or PNG
    • Some recommended Image Sizes 2000 x 1100 pixels, 4700 x 2300 pixels
  • Choose Save & Close

 

Setting Your MySQL Database Settings

  • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
  • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
  • Choose Settings
  • From the Drop Down List Set Your Operating Mode to Live
  • Make sure the database name matches the actual name of the MySQL database - the default is cbuhof
  • Set Your Host IP to your Internal IP address of the machine that stores your data on your network
  • Set Your MySQL port - the default is 3306
  • Choose Save & Close

 

Adding Content

  • Double Tap anywhere on the Main Menu to open the PIN access form
  • Enter your custom user PIN or the system default PIN to launch the system's back end menu
  • Choose Settings
  • Choose Athlete/Coach/Team Profile
  • Complete all relevant fields for each profile you wish to create
  • Help buttons are available for some of the fields
  • Use the Add New Content button just above the data grid to add specific content to each profile
    • Add a Tag to the Content you are creating. Tags are necessary to determine which interactive buttons become available in the interactive viewing screens
    • Choose From Announcement, Article, Award, Photo, Team, and Video
    • Record a Friendly Name for the content that will be visible in search lists throughout the interactive exhibit
    • Record a description that will be visible for public viewing to accompany the content (i.e. gives the tagged content context)
  • Add as much Content as you like
  • Choose Save or Save and Close to save your profile data
